
Professor R. Scott Wright is a physician and professor in the Division of Cardiology at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota, MN, USA. He is the chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Zumbro Valley Medical Society, a Task Force member of the Minnesota Department of Health, and a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Chilean Society of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery. He is a reviewer for Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the International Journal of Cardiology, the American Journal of Cardiology, the American Heart Journal, the International Journal of Critical Illness and Injury Science, Mayo Clinic Proceedings and Annals of Internal Medicine.
He has received the Young Leader in Medicine Award from the American Medical Association (1994) and is a consultant for Sanofi, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals and Sanofi. He has also received honoraria from Roche, Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Amgen, Astellas Pharma, Bayer, Boehringer Ingelheim, Boston Scientific, Daiichi Sankyo and Eli Lilly. Professor Wright’s research interests focus on testing early statin therapy after myocardial infarction, examining modulators of the inflammatory–atherothrombotic cascade and renal failure in acute coronary syndrome.
