This module aims to increase your awareness and knowledge of pulmonary fibrosis. It will take approximately 1/2 hour and will cover the epidemiology and risk factors of pulmonary fibrosis, with emphasis on how to recognize the illness. After a short introduction, you can test your knowledge by means of a case study and at the end of the e-learning you can participate in a short quiz.

Learning objectives

After completing this e-learning you will….

  • know what ILD and pulmonary fibrosis entails

  • be able to name the risk factors for pulmonary fibrosis 

  • understand why early detection of pulmonary fibrosis is important

  • know when to refer your patient

  • know what to look for in the case history of patients

  • know which tests are relevant to detect and diagnose fibrosis

  • be aware of ‘red flags’ that point towards progression of fibrosis
