Dr Cynthia Miller brings two decades of experience in the health care field. Her areas of expertise are strategic initiatives for access in national health plans and health systems. Other areas of expertise include population health, healthcare disparities, and chronic disease management. Key disease and focus areas include diabetes, obesity, pulmonary, oncology, and transplant. After completing her MD at New York University, she took an internship and residency at NYU/Bellevue in Internal Medicine/Primary Care. She then completed a Masters in Public Health at the University of Florida, USA. While in practice, she developed a referral program for physicians to the Diabetes Prevention Program through the YMCA for BayCare Health System, located in the Tampa Bay Area. Cynthia served as the Senior Medical Director of Pharmacy for WellCare Health Plans. In that role, she oversaw prior authorization development, utilization management, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Drug Utilization Review Committee and the Quality Committee.
Partha Kar

Professor Partha Kar has been a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust since 2008. He is a pioneer of The Super Six Diabetes Model, is a National Specialty Advisor in Diabetes with NHS England and is a co-author of the national diabetes Getting It Right First Time report. Other work has included updating guidelines in relation to use of technology in those living with diabetes, helping to develop a virtual reality programme to improve hospital safety and increasing mental health access for diabetes patients across the NHS. He also recently taken a role in tackling issues of racial disparity in the medical workforce as the Medical Workforce Race Equality Standard lead for NHS England. He has also been named as one of the most influential BAME individuals in healthcare in 2020,2021 and 2022. Partha received an OBE in the New Year's Honours List in 2021 for his services to diabetes care. He is one of the leading users of social media in diabetes care - and writes a monthly blog for the British Medical Journal.
Stephen Wheatcroft
Consultant Cardiologist Professor of Cardiometabolic Medicine, University of Leeds, Leeds, UK
Professor Wheatcroft, Professor of Cardiometabolic Medicine, is an academic interventional cardiologist and vascular biologist, leading a research group focusing on the role of insulin-like growth factor binding proteins in cardio-metabolic disease. After graduating in Medicine from the University of Birmingham in 1994 he undertook general medical training posts in the West Midlands, UK, and clinical training in Cardiology and Coronary Intervention at Kings College Hospital, London. Clinical training was consolidated by visiting fellowships in primary coronary intervention at Charles University, Czech Republic and at Jagiellonian University Medical College, Kraków. Professor Wheatcroft then accepted a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship earning a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine at Kings College, London 2000-2003 and was a visiting research fellow at Mount Sinai Medical School, New York then joining the University of Leeds in 2006 as Clinical Senior Lecturer in Cardiovascular Medicine. Professor Wheatcroft has been on the British Journal of Pharmacology Editorial Board since 2016.
